Grant Program for Historical Resources of Iowa

“Everywhere you look, Iowans are investing in arts, history and cultural projects that create job opportunities, generate economic growth and improve the quality of life in their communities.

Applications for a new round of grant programs that support historic preservation, country schools, cultural heritage, academic research and operational activities are due this spring.

The Historical Resource Development Program supports the preservation, conservation and interpretation of history. The program encourages individuals and organizations to educate the public about historical resources, including historic buildings, museum collections and documentary materials such as diaries, letters, photographs and newspapers. The program began in 1990 to conserve museum collections, microfilm newspapers, preserve photographs, install exhibits, survey historic neighborhoods, nominate buildings and districts to the National Register of Historic Places, and more.”

Grant applications must be submitted online by 11:59 p.m. CST, April 25, 2018.

The HRDP grant has provided many of our clients with the opportunity to microfilm historical newspapers.
